Eberhard Mfg. Co.

Eberhard Mfg. Co. started in 1877 in Canton, Ohio, by George W. Eberhard, focusing on hardware for the carriage and saddlery industries. The company relocated to Cleveland in 1880 but suffered a fire and merged with the Cleveland Malleable Iron Co. Eberhard transitioned to manufacturing parts for the growing automotive industry in 1908 and played a role in WWI efforts. It became a key supplier of military hardware during World War II before shifting its production to industrial and vehicular access hardware. In 1973, the company moved its facilities to a new location in Strongsville, where it remains today, specializing in latches, handles, hinges, and other access hardware
