Nice antique Ritz wooden foot size measuring tool manufactured by American Automatic Devices Co from Chicago Ill. Vintage MCM made in USA collectible shoe sizer and shoe store fitting tool and accessory.
In the 1920’s, Oliver Cornelius Ritz-Woller founded the American Automatic Devices Co. in Chicago, Illinois and patented what he called the “Shoe Fitting Stick” for measuring feet for a proper fitting shoe, and that later became known as the “Ritz Stick”. A wooden piece slides up and down the stick allowing the foot to be measured for a shoe size marked on the stick.
